Kinnick kinnick is a Native American word which means mixture and more specifically pertains to a mixture of herbs which are smoked both ceremonially and socially. The mixture recipes vary and may contain tobacco but it is not necessary and often they do not. The mixture is smoked in a pipe. Adding a slice of fresh apple to the mixture sealed in a ziplock bag and shaken for a week will mellow the smoke as the dried herbs will draw moisture from the apple and add the apple flavor to the mixture. The apple is then discarded. This proprietory kinnick mixture contains yerba santa, bearberry, mullein, lobelia, pau d'arco bark and spearmint. 1 ounce.
